\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAs the centuries went by, according to mythology, god Hephaestus became the protector of the island. Mesmerized by the fire of the volcanoes of Lemnos, he built his workshop on the island. In Hephaistia, the ancient city of the 5th century BC, the ancient god and his children, the Cabeiri, were worshiped. At the cape of Chloe, very close to the archeological site of Hephaistia, you can visit the famous Sanctuary of Cabeirians, where the Cabeirian Mysteries were held, ceremonies related to fertility and the rebirth of nature.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Built on a steep peninsula, its castle, built in the 12th century AD by the Byzantine emperor Andronikos I Komnenos, dominates the area. About 60 deer (of the species Dama dama), donated by the municipality of Rhodes, roam freely the alleys and shadows of the castle.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
